So *This* Is Why America Is Coming Apart!

This is why I removed some of my photos in my articles. https://medium.com/illumination/people-are-being-sued-for-using-creative-commons-images-adc5c8ba1491

America seems to be coming apart these days. We all are becoming so divisive. Each person is becoming an Individual, a world unto each person. Also, each interest group, race, culture, is also trying to Become, to achieve Equality and acceptance.

A German metaphysics philosopher foresaw this problem coming.

Rudolf Steiner.

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudolf_Steiner

“”Rudolf Joseph Lorenz Steiner (27 (or 25) February 1861[1] — 30 March 1925) was an Austrian philosopher, social reformer, architect, esotericist,[7][8] and claimed clairvoyant.[9][10] Steiner gained initial recognition at the end of the nineteenth century as a literary critic and published philosophical works including The Philosophy of Freedom. At the beginning of the twentieth century he founded an esoteric spiritual movement, anthroposophy, with roots in German idealist philosophy and theosophy; other influences include Goethean science and Rosicrucianism.[11]””

Steiner Developed a phrase called, “the war of all against all”.

from https://wn.rsarchive.org/GA/GA0104/19080625p01.html

[quote] “WE have said repeatedly that our epoch will end, when the seventh age has passed away, by the War of All against All, but this war must really be pictured quite differently from the way we have been accustomed to think of war. We must bear in mind the foundation, the real cause of this war. This foundation or cause is the increase of egoism, of self-seeking and selfishness on the part of man. And we have now progressed so far in our considerations that we have seen what a sharp two-edged sword this “I” of man is. He who does not fully realize that this “I” is a two-edged sword will scarcely be able to grasp the entire meaning of the evolution of humanity and the world. On the one hand this “I” is the cause that man hardens within himself, and that he desires to draw into the service of his “I” his inner capacities and all the other objects at his disposal. This “I” is the cause of man’s directing all his wishes to the satisfaction of this “I” as such. Its striving to draw to itself as its own possession a part of the earth which belongs to all, to drive away all the other Egos from its realm, to fight them, to be at war with them, is one side of the “I.” But on the other hand the must not forget that the “I” is at the same time that which gives man his independence and his inner freedom, which in the truest sense of the word elevates him. His dignity is founded in this “I,” it is the basis of the Divine in man”.

“But at the same time, if it does not discover love, if it hardens within itself, it is the tempter that plunges him into the abyss. For it is that which separates men from one another which brings them to the great War of All against All, not only to the war of nation against nation (for the conception of a nation will then no longer have the significance it possesses to-day) but to the war of each single person against every other person in every branch of life; to the war of class against class, of caste against caste and sex against sex. Thus in every field of life the “I” will become the apple of discord; and hence we may say that it can lead on the one hand to the highest and on the other hand to the lowest. For this reason it is a sharp two-edged sword. And he who brought the full Ego-consciousness to man, Christ Jesus, is, as we have seen, symbolically and correctly represented in the Apocalypse as one who has the sharp two-edged sword in his mouth.” [quote]

Each person, now, is becoming a world unto himself, herself. Each culture now demands Recognition.

I have an image of 200 coffee cups trying to be placed into the same exact spot on a table! There is only room for one cup.

Then there is Roz Chast! She is the famous New Yorker cartoonist. She has written also several books. One of her cartoons says it all about America’s problems. I probably should not upload an image of this cartoon, but I can describe it simply.

A large family gathering of people has now seated themselves at the thanksgiving day dinner table. There must be about a dozen people or more. The table, though, is empty of food, but all the plates and silverware are in place. In a comic book style of dialogue, there is a “balloon” over each persons’ head. Each balloon states, in summary, their food philosophy.

I will here quote from several balloons.

— -allergic to nuts.

— -a strict vegan.

— -diabetic.

— -on a diet.

— -allergic to wheat.

— -allergic to eggs.

— -lactose intolerant.

— -vegetarian.

— -traditional

— -puree and soft foods only.

— -a permanent food tube to the stomach.

— -macrobiotic.

Here, the takeaway is that every single person has to bring their own food and NONE of this food can be shared with anyone else!

Looks to me we each and all are becoming so Individualized that each person now has very little in common with anyone else, thus the “War”.

Each culture group vies to be Recognized as being equal and vital to any other group or ism.

Steiner, further in the writing, writes about “Love” and the need to Love everyone despite these differences. Yes, I agree. Each of us must accept everyone as being an Individual and still “love” them. “Everyone” includes races, cultures, political beliefs. “Everyone” also includes the homeless, the poor, the criminals, and the insane, as well.

[criminals, for instance. Not to incarcerate, but truly reform so that these individuals can become a positive contribution to life.]

As long as we direct this Individualization to ego-self, only, we, as a nation, as a world, are in danger of coming apart!

I can give an example from a true story. A lady wrote of her experience in a very ritzy restaurant. She and a friend would treat themselves several times a year by going for lunch here. Today, though, the meal was unpleasant. There was a single mother here with three brat, hyperactive, kids. They *owned* the dining room! They ran around, screamed, yelled, and otherwise bothered everyone. No one dared to confront the mother, though. Finally, as she was paying for the meal, she stepped over to tell that mother, “it is too bad that you could not keep your children disciplined here in this room”.

She replied in a very, “staring at you with a dagger between the eyes, piercing look”, tone, and very loudly with great emotion;

“MY KIDS MUST BE *FREE* TO *EXPRESS* THEMSELVES”!!

Who is right? Her need? The patrons of the restaurant, wanting a quiet meal?

[in a democracy, she would have to “shove it” and to discipline her children or else leave. Our Democracy, though, seems to be coming apart! As well that it should, perhaps, as this means that probably the Blacks would just have to accept being second-class citizens as they are in the minority!]

Each person, in this room, is right. Possibly she was terribly abused as a child and she vows never, never, to suppress her own kids as her parents suppressed her! She wants freedom for her kids, or another customer wants peace and quiet. Two objects occupying the same exact space! Two coffee cups trying to be placed into one car cup holder!

The “over manager” seems to be increasingly missing, today. Christianity is not in vogue anymore. The Liberals are removing all the authority of the Christian-Greek-Roman-Renaissance cultures from our lives. Without this authority being operative, each person goes their own way.

Perhaps we are at the stage of an age ending. The next age has yet to arrive, with a new “over-manager” culture. We might be at that in-between stage. Probably, when this new age appears, anyone who is still alive might think this new age belief system is “satanic” as it will be so different from our culture of today.
