I *Think* I know Why There Are Fewer Insects!
I think I know why there are fewer insects today.

First, I have to build a table before I can set my coffee cup on it!

Why You See Fewer Bugs Splattering On Car Windshields Nowadays
Remember the days when a long drive in high summer would make your car’s windshield look like the site of an insect massacre? If you’ve noticed that this sight is becoming increasingly uncommon, you’re not alone. Ecologists have also discovered a decline in the number of bug splatters on car windows, and some believe that it’s a sign of the much wider “insect apocalypse” affecting our planet.
In 2019, Danish researchers published a study using this windshield method and noted reductions of 80 to 97 percent. Another study from 2018 also used similar methods around the El Yunque National Forest of Puerto Rico and found insect biomass had fallen by 10 to 60 times since the 1970s.

This here Freestone has noticed this: I was in rehab for seven years, until 2021. There was an outdoor patio on the second floor and light showed upon it from about seven windows and the lights were on until at least 9 PM. I often took a quick walk out onto the patio after dark.
In the first year, every single warm night had many dozens of bugs attracted to the lights. A really warm night might have shown hundreds of bugs.
Seven years later. Hardly a single bug at all! Hardly a tree frog either as there was nothing for them to eat.
I have also read that even in rainforest preserves, studies have shown up to 60% fewer insects!
Here is another scary article…

PLASTIC FOUND IN THE HUMAN HEART
Plastic is everywhere. It can be found on beaches, drifting in the oceans, floating in the air and also ends up in the food we eat. There are multiple ways in which microplastics can enter our bodies. Primarily through inhalation and swallowing, but also through other body openings. These tiny particles less than five millimetres wide have been found in the human digestive tract, lungs and blood. A new study has now also found microplastics in human hearts.
Although the sample size was small, the results were alarming. The researchers found that heart tissue contained significant amounts of plastic particles. Nine different types of plastic were found in five different types of heart tissue. While there is evidence that some pieces of plastic entered the heart during surgery, there were also particles of a plastic type that the patients had not been exposed to during the procedures.

“Forever Chemicals” Called PFAS Show Up in Your Food, Clothes, and Home
These toxic chemicals are so common in consumer products and manufacturing that they’re everywhere — including inside our bodies.
A class of manmade chemicals known as PFAS — which stands for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances — is part of what makes these consumer goods water-, stain-, and grease-resistant. PFAS are also toxic at extremely low levels (i.e. parts per quadrillion), posing significant risks to our health. And if you’re wondering why they’re called “forever chemicals,” it’s because they are nearly indestructible.
Unfortunately, PFAS are almost impossible to avoid. They are found in our homes, our offices, our supermarkets — practically everywhere.

This here Freestone recalls a study done by a California University. They sought Volunteers to take a special blood test to see if 90 dangerous chemicals were in their blood and in what amounts.
I then read of a special person who wanted to see how he fares with his organic living. “Special” in that he is nearly one of a kind. He hand-built his organic material house on a cliff overlooking the Northern California Pacific Ocean. Only west winds blew over his land. Too, he has an organic garden and eats only organic food. He stays away from all chemical exposures when possible.
He got his results back. He was AGAST!!
His blood contained ALL of the 90 chemicals and in the same exact amounts as everyone else! He realized they were in the air, water, soil, and garden food. No escape!
So now, after building a table for you all, here I will set upon this table my Theory as to why so few bugs! I never have read of this idea anywhere! Most researchers blame the lack of bugs on global warming alone.
NO!
I once watched monarch butterflies lay their eggs on milkweed, every year, for a number of recent years. NO larva ever hatched! The eggs were infertile!
I think that many of these chemicals, that are present today, in ever the more increasing amounts, cause insects to be more or less sterile!
Maybe the Forever chemicals. Perhaps the micro-plastics. Maybe a mixture of all of the above 90 chemicals!
Sterile insects lay sterile eggs. Maybe only a few eggs hatch. The population will then crash, taking the birds and frogs down with them! The predator-prey pyramid begins to entirely crash!
Will not do us Americans much good to cease polluting. The third, and somewhat the second world, are now just beginning to industrialize. Most of our goods now come from these factories.
Anyway, the chemical load, consisting of whatever “witches brew” mixtures, might be causing the insect crash.
I wonder about US all! Our own fertility rate seems to be decreasing as well. Will all life begin to have fewer offspring soon?!
No escape. Even in the Amazon rainforest, they find fewer bugs!
You breathe and eat. Your skin absorbs. Nearly every object now is made of plastic. I read that 40 to 60 percent of bottled water has micro-particles of plastic in their water!!
Maybe by, say 2090, only one in 500 women give birth.
Slowly the human race lives in nursing homes, run by similar-aged, but somewhat healthy, people! Very few people left under 70 years of age!
A gentle Doom for the human race…
